Head of School,
King David Pre-Primary School Linksfield

From the moment you walk through our doors, you will feel it, the warmth, the energy, and the unmistakable sense of belonging that defines our school. At King David Pre-Primary School Linksfield, we are far more than a place of early learning; we are a second home. Our classrooms and corridors are filled with joy, curiosity, and genuine care, where every child is known, valued, and supported. We are intentional in creating an environment in which children feel safe and secure, allowing them to explore, grow, and begin their educational journey with confidence and enthusiasm.

Our academic programme is thoughtfully designed to support each stage of a child’s development, recognising that early childhood lays the groundwork for future learning. We are committed to the pursuit of excellence, fostering both academic rigour and intellectual curiosity from the earliest years. Through a carefully balanced curriculum, children develop essential literacy and numeracy skills while engaging in rich exploration across a range of disciplines. Our approach integrates STEM learning, social and emotional development, music, and movement, ensuring a holistic educational experience. While we strive for strong academic outcomes, we view these as a stepping stone towards something far greater.

At the very heart of our school lies a deep and enduring commitment to Jewish identity. Rooted in the principle of L’dor V’dor, we see ourselves as custodians of a rich heritage, passing it with care from one generation to the next. Through the integration of Hebrew language, engagement with Israel, and a vibrant programme of Torah learning, we provide our children with strong roots to ground them throughout their lives. At the same time, we nurture within them the confidence and openness to engage with the broader world. Our school embraces families from across the spectrum of Jewish observance, fostering unity, pride, and a deep sense of belonging. Jewish values are not only taught, but lived through our celebration of Chagim, our connection to mitzvot, and the everyday experiences that shape a child’s identity.

We believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. Each child is seen as a unique individual, with their own strengths, interests, and potential. Through a range of opportunities, children begin to develop the character and confidence that will guide them throughout their lives. These formative experiences play a vital role in shaping individuals who are not only capable learners, but who are also moral and ethical. Within this supportive environment, children learn to understand themselves, relate to others, and develop a strong sense of self-worth.

It is both a privilege and a responsibility to partner with families during these foundational years. We invite you to visit our school and experience firsthand the warmth and vibrancy that make our community so special. We look forward to welcoming you into our King David family and to sharing in the exciting journey that lies ahead for your child.

Jewish Life & Learning

Jewish life is experienced in joyful, meaningful and age-appropriate ways throughout each day. From morning davening and songs, to play, storytelling and crafts, Jewish values and traditions are woven into the rhythm of school life.

Shabbat, the Chaggim and weekly Parsha provide rich opportunities for exploration and celebration, bringing stories and values to life in ways that feel natural and engaging for young children. Chaggim, together with Israel’s national days, create special moments of connection between school, home and community.

Through these shared experiences, children begin to develop a strong sense of identity, belonging and pride. Connections to Israel and South Africa are explored through vibrant, experiential learning, helping children appreciate both their heritage and the diverse world around them.

Jewish values such as kindness, gratitude, respect and responsibility are not only taught, but lived each day, forming the foundation for confident, compassionate young learners.

Educational Excellence

Beyond the Classroom

Intra and Extra-Mural Enrichment

We believe that some of the richest learning happens beyond the traditional classroom. Our carefully designed programme of intra and extra-mural activities encourages children to explore, create, move and grow in a joyful and balanced way.

Intra-Murals (Included in the School Day)

Our intra-mural programme forms part of the daily school experience and provides structured, age appropriate opportunities to support each child’s development.

As children move through the the different units, the programme naturally expands to include language enrichment, confidence building and early Hebrew exposure.

By embedding these experiences into the school day, we ensure that every child benefits from a rich, consistent and well rounded education.

Extra-Murals (Optional After School Enrichment)

A range of optional extra-mural activities is offered on campus after school, providing children with further opportunities to explore their interests and develop new skills. These programmes are run by external specialists and take place in a familiar, safe environment.

These activities allow children to build confidence, develop new abilities and experience the joy of learning beyond the classroom, all while offering families the convenience of a seamless school day.

Intra-Murals
Children participate in activities such as: Music, Speech groups, Library time, Social and emotional development, Gross motor programmes
Extra-Murals (Optional After-School Enrichment)
Offerings may include: Karate, Tumbling Tigerz, Dance, Pottery, Tumbling, Soccer, Creative building, Nature based exploration
