At King David Primary School Linksfield, school is much more than a place of learning – it is a second home. From the moment families walk through our gates, they are welcomed into a community filled with warmth, kindness and a true sense of belonging. Every child is known, valued and nurtured as an individual, encouraged to grow with confidence and joy. Our families, too, are an integral part of our close-knit and caring community.

We are deeply committed to providing an exceptional education. Our approach blends academic excellence with curiosity, creativity and a genuine love of learning, ensuring that our children are well prepared for an ever-changing world. While strong academic achievement is important, we believe true success is measured far more broadly – in the growth of kind, thoughtful, capable young people, who lead with integrity, purpose and passion.

Jewish life and values are woven deeply into the heart and soul of King David Primary School Linksfield. Guided by the spirit of L’dor V’dor – from generation to generation – we see ourselves as custodians of a rich heritage, passing it on in ways that are meaningful and relevant. Through Hebrew and Jewish Studies, our learners develop a strong sense of identity, connection and pride in their traditions, their relationship with Israel, and their place in the wider world. At the same time, we encourage curiosity, independent thinking and a deep appreciation of what it means to grow as proud Jews and South Africans within a caring and inclusive community.

At King David Primary School Linksfield, every child is seen, celebrated and encouraged as a unique individual, with their own strengths, talents and passions. Through a wide range of leadership opportunities, sport, arts and cultural programmes, our learners are inspired to grow in confidence, resilience and character. These meaningful experiences help nurture empathy, teamwork and leadership, equipping our children to navigate life with purpose, compassion and a strong sense of self.

We warmly invite you to experience the spirit of King David Primary School Linksfield for yourself. Visit our campus, meet our passionate and dedicated staff and see our children engaged in joyful, purposeful learning each day. Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family will make, and we would be honoured to partner with you in shaping your child’s journey and future.

Jewish Life & Learning

At King David Primary School Linksfield, Jewish Life is so much more than a curriculum – it is something that is lived, felt and cherished throughout each school day. Every morning begins with Tefillah, as children’s voices echo down the corridors, filling the school with warmth, meaning and beautiful song, and setting a tone of connection for the day ahead.

Jewish values such as menschlichkeit and Derech Eretz are woven into daily life, guiding how our children treat one another and shaping a culture of kindness and respect. From Bar and Bat Mitzvah etiquette and meaningful Tzedakah initiatives to our much-loved “Cool to Be Kind” campaign, these values are brought to life in ways that are both practical and heartfelt. Our immersive chessed and outreach programmes offer children the opportunity to give, connect and learn through acts of kindness and service.

Shabbat and Chagim are celebrated with joy, energy and deep meaning, creating special moments that strengthen a proud Jewish identity. Yom HaShoah, Yom Hazikaron, Yom Ha’atzmaut and Yom Yerushalayim are especially significant milestones in our calendar, connecting our children to Israel, its history, its people, and the ongoing story of the Jewish People. Through these experiences, Israel is not simply something our children learn about, but an integral part of their Jewish identity and their connection to Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael.

At King David Primary School Linksfield, Hebrew is taught as a living, vibrant language that opens doors to Torah learning, Jewish heritage, and meaningful connection with Israeli society. Hebrew is the foundation and core of Jewish education. As the language of our people, Hebrew is a living bridge between our children, Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael. At our school, Hebrew extends beyond the classroom – opportunities to hear the language, sing the songs and speak Hebrew are provided from the start of the primary school journey.

Through weekly Parsha learning, calendar highlights and programmes that warmly welcome parents and grandparents onto campus to klayb nachas, our school creates rich experiences for families to learn, celebrate and share in the joy of Jewish life together.

Our Jewish Studies and Hebrew educators work closely with the Division of Informal Jewish Education (DIJE), bringing learning to life in engaging, experiential and memorable ways. Carefully chosen for their warmth, passion, and ability to connect with children, our educators ignite curiosity, nurture a deep sense of belonging, and foster a genuine love of Hebrew, Jewish learning and connection to Israel in every child.

Educational Excellence

At King David Primary School Linksfield, academic excellence is nurtured every day by devoted, caring teachers who care deeply about each child and inspire a genuine and lifelong love of learning.

Beyond the Classroom

A rich and varied programme of sport, culture and extra-mural activities helps nurture healthy bodies, curious minds and balanced, well-rounded growth. Through inter-house and inter-school competitions, children learn the value of teamwork, discipline and resilience, and how to win with humility and lose with grace, as a true mensch.

We also take great joy in recognising children at assemblies for achievements beyond the school gates, celebrating their effort, dedication and personal growth, and honouring the many different ways they shine.
